Ljubljana, Slovenia, February 7, 2012 - The legendary sports hall Tivoli, where ACH Volley's team achieved its historic successes, is almost ready for its first orange Euroleague Wednesday. On February 8, the Slovenian cultural holiday, at 18 o'clock great volleyball will once again enter Tivoli. In the return match in the CEV Cup ACH Volley is hosting Knack Roeselare from Belgium. The orange team won the first match in Belgium after five sets and to qualify into the semi-finals a win of the home team would suffice. Should ACH Volley lose, the golden set will decide the winning team.
"Although we have won the first match in Belgium we have to keep focus on the next game and the new win,” Igor Kolaković answered to the question on how ACH Volley is preparing for this match. "At the first match Roeselare showed its qualities and confirmed the information regarding its strengths, despite the fact that the team has not been a part of the Champions League this season. Nevertheless, it is the same team that won numerous Belgian championships. We will go into the match as if it were our first, with all due respect for our opponent and with a lot of motivation for another Eurowin, which would take us into the CEV Cup semi-finals. With regard to the previous match we have to improve our serve reception as well as serves. We also have to keep our focus on the game, from beginning to finish, and reduce the number of mistakes we make. We will also have to keep Roeselare’s two best players, Belgian Hendrik Tuerlinckx and Argentinean Sam Deroo, in check, as they’ve given us a lot of trouble at the first match,” stresses Kolaković.
Andrej Flajs, team captain adds: "We are looking forward to the return match in Tivoli. Although we won the match in Belgium, the hardest part is yet to come. Our performance should not vary, minimum mistakes should be made and we should play according to the plan. Roeselare has its own plan and the team believes we could be defeated at come. Health wise I am OK and I will be even better prepared than I was last week. I believe in our victory and I am certain that together with our fans we will add a bit of sports touch to the cultural holiday.”
In-between the matches the team of Knack Roeselare did not take a break as the Belgian championship is currently in full swing. Last weekend they played well, won the match and are now firmly in the fourth place. The match against Puurs, where Slovenian Alen Djorđević also plays, was won 3:0, despite the fact the Roeselare’s middle blocker Stancu did not play and young wing-spiker Sam Deroo was also out of commission due to flu. We will soon find out if those players will be ready for the match in Tivoli.
WELCOME to Tivoli! THERE IS NO GREAT MATCH WITHOUT GREAT FANS!
