| "THE SUCCESS OF SLOVENE ATHLETES EQUALS PRIDE AND RECOGNITION IN POLAND" |
| |
"It feels really good when a Pole congratulates me for the success of Slovene athletes. I am very lucky that my first months in Poland coincided with the amazing results of Slovene athletes: in the summer it was Primož Kozmus, defeating a Pole at the World Championship in Berlin; our football team defeated the Polish one in Maribor. Our basketball players were very popular at the European Championship as well and many Poles supported them after their team was eliminated. Our handball players, ski jumpers are well known in Poland as well as Petra Majdič and many others. Every volleyball fan can imagine what ACH Volley qualifying for the CEV Indesit Champions League Final Four means. The feelings are incredible," said Marjan Šetinc, MA, Slovenia`s Ambassador in Poland, who will also attend the Final Four in Lodz. |

The road to Poland led them from Maribor Airport to Warsaw, followed by a two-hour bus drive to Lodz. The Slovene team will have its first practice in Atlas Arena sports hall on Friday evening. After they arrival to Lodz we had a short talk with the Canadian player Daniel Lewis, who won the third place at the Final Four two years ago with the Polish team of Belchatow and whose experience will be very valuable for the team in orange. Daniel recently celebrated his 34th birthday and is still very popular in Poland. He was very happy to answer a few questions and here are his replies... |
